Stage Profile

It's what the world has been waiting for! The finals of the Millionaire Fighting 2001 Tournament take place here, in Nagai Stadium, which is an actual location in Japan. (Osaka has a J-League team play there.) 50,000 fans (the stadium's capacity) have come to watch the finals between your team, and whatever other team managed to fight their way through the tournament's seven other cities in order to get here.

Stage Quirks

Keep your eyes peeled, because this one happens really fast: After a few seconds, the bright sunny day (above) turns into a rather dark and cloudy one (below), which requires the stadium lights to be turned on. The giant video screen in the background (which is also an actual feature of the real-life Nagai Stadium) tells you to fight, what round you're in, and the tournament's sponsors, the (Ken) Masters Foundation and the (Robert) Garcia Concern. Why would Ken participate in a tournament he's putting the money out for, anyway?

At the start of Round 3, a giant scaffolding surrounds the ring. The rig includes a few cameramen, television monitors that show every location in the game, and a real-time "scoreboard" of sorts. It informs you of (roughly) how much life you have left, the status of your combos or condition (Good! Danger!), the number of rounds you've won (the three lights underneath the board), and tells you you've won. This is the only background in the game that is interactive, and actually can help you when you forget to look at your vitality gauge.
